A.G. McIlwain Ltd., naval architects, has provided design and consultation
services to the Marine Industry on a continuing basis for a wide variety of
vessels since 1967. Our designs are based on actual shipyard building and
repair experience, as well as expertise in designing practical, economically
built and operated vessels of steel or aluminum construction. We offer
personalized service and custom solutions.
Designs are prepared using the latest CAD programs
or can be hand drawn as is sometimes required when working with original
hand drawn designs. Designs can be prepared to comply with local or
classification regulations.
Vessels built to our designs range from 13 ft. Z
drive work boats through to 250 ft. barges. A.G. McIlwain Ltd. designs include cable
ferries, water taxis, crew boats, fire boats, fishing vessels, yachts,
and 400 - 5500 Hp tugs, both conventional and Z drive.
The firm is also actively involved in preparing
designs for conversion and modernization of existing vessels.
